The improved movesets actually make each turtle feel distinct, so using Donatello's longer reach is a real advantage against the Foot Clan. I was pleasantly surprised how well the beat-em-up action holds up on the small screen.

The controls feel much tighter than the first game, making those jump attacks actually land where I aim them. Being able to swap between all four turtles on the fly adds nice variety to the beat-em-up action on the go.

I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the controls feel for a Game Boy beat-em-up—each turtle’s unique weapon actually makes a difference in combat. The stage variety kept me engaged all the way through.
