Nintendo DS – Features

Pre-launch the Nintendo DS was marketed as an experimental “third pillar” in Nintendo’s console lineup. However, backward compatibility with Game Boy Advance titles and strong sales ultimately established it as the successor to the Game Boy series.

AMAZING DISPLAY

Nintendo introduced a new distinctive feature to the handheld gaming community: two LCD screens working in tandem, the bottom one being a touchscreen. Both screens are encompassed within a clamshell design similar to the Game Boy Advance SP.

OUTSTANDING PARTICULARITIES

Besides the dual screens and touchpad, the console has a built-in microphone and support for wireless connectivity. The Nintendo DS also features the ability for multiple DS consoles to directly interact with each other over Wi-Fi within a short range without the need to connect to an existing wireless network.

GREAT MEMORY AND STORAGE

The console has a 4 MB PSRAM expandable via the Game Boy Advance slot as well as 256 kB of serial flash memory, all in order to assure you a smooth and enjoyable game play.

Nintendo DS Lite- Games

With over 2000 game titles and backwards compatibility with the Game Boy Advance, the Nintendo DS won over the hearts of many, providing generations with endless gaming possibilities.

MARIO KART DS

Like other games in the series, Mario Kart DS features characters from the Mario series, and pits them against each other as they race in karts on tracks based on locations in the Mario series. Overall, Mario Kart DS is the third best-selling game for the Nintendo DS.

NEW SUPER MARIO BROS

The best-selling Nintendo DS game with over 30 million copies sold follows the main character, Mario, as he fights his way through Bowser’s henchmen to rescue Princess Peach. While traveling through eight worlds with a total of 80 levels, Mario must defeat Bowser Jr. and Bowser with the help of several power-ups before saving Princess Peach.

NINTENDOGS DALMATIAN & FRIENDS

This real-time pet simulation game is a special edition for the Nintendo DS, using the console’s touchscreen and built-in microphone. Take care of your dog, pet it, play with frisbees, balls, groom it and more. Interact by calling your dog, teaching it tricks or take it for a walk in the park.

ANIMAL CROSSING: WILD WORLD

The second installment in the Animal Crossing series,  Wild World focuses on living in a remote village populated with anthropomorphic animals, where the player character is encouraged to perform any number of tasks, such as collecting and planting. The game is synced to the console’s clock and calendar, allowing the game to be played in real-time, which affects the occurrence of in-game events based on the current time of day or season.
