Nintendo 3DS XL Console Red/Black

For gamers who grew up flipping open a clamshell and diving into Pokémon X, this is the perfect handheld.  The Nintendo 3DS XL was a significant upgrade, featuring larger screens, extended battery life, and exclusive titles that couldn’t be played anywhere else.

And yes, it still holds up brilliantly in 2025, restored by Retro vGames’ experts.

Please Note! This is the Japanese 3DS LL model that’s been carefully converted to US firmware, which means it functions just like a North American unit.

What You’ll Get:

• 1x Nintendo 3DS XL Console
• 1x third-party charger – fully tested for compatibility
• 1-year Functional Warranty
• Free shipping across the U.S. and Canada

Please note: Stylus and SD card not included - but available as optional add-ons.

Thoroughly Tested. Thoughtfully Refurbished.

We don’t just “power on and ship.”

Every unit undergoes a rigorous multi-point inspection by our expert retro techs.

Here’s what we focus on:

• Screen calibration: Both upper and lower screens checked for brightness, pixel response, and touchscreen accuracy.
• Hinge & clamshell durability: No looseness, no slipping. We test open-close resistance to ensure a firm, satisfying snap.
• Buttons & triggers: Responsiveness tested under gameplay conditions—no sticky buttons, no missed presses.
• Charging port functionality: Inspected to ensure secure charging and battery hold.
• Audio check: Speaker output and headphone jack tested for volume, balance, and clarity.
• Internal reset: Fully wiped, factory reset, and updated to the latest US firmware.

Cosmetically, you’ll get a console in very good condition. Light surface wear or minor scratches may be present, but nothing that affects performance.

Why the 3DS XL Still Hits Different

• Larger 4.88" top screen — 90% bigger than the original 3DS
• Red-and-black finish — a bold look loved by gamers and collectors alike
• Backward compatibility — Play your full DS library
• StreetPass & SpotPass features — Even if the online side is gone, local data swaps still work
• Expandable storage — SD card slot (compatible with MicroSD cards via adapter) for digital games or saves
• Built-in 3D functionality — Optional but still cool when used in supported games
• Local multiplayer support — Perfect for couch co-op or trading sessions

While Nintendo’s eShop has officially closed, physical cartridges still work flawlessly. Make sure you check out the games we have available for you!
